Bariatric Surgery in Turkey

Bariatrics refers to the branch of medicine dealing with what causes obesity, and how obesity and allied diseases can be prevented and treated. Obesity can put individuals at risk for a number of chronic diseases. Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce such risks and improve the person’s overall health.

Gastric Sleeve

Gastric Sleeve Surgery, also known as Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), is a weight loss surgery that makes the stomach smaller by removing approximately 75% of the stomach.

As a result of the surgery, your stomach takes on the shape of a tube or sleeve which holds much less food.

Basically, it suppresses the appetite and makes you feel full faster. Patients can lose 60% of their excess body weight with a proper diet.

Gastric Balloon

Gastric Balloon, also known as intragastric balloon, is a weight loss procedure that is performed by inserting a balloon inside the stomach through an endoscope.

The inflated balloon in the stomach decreases the capacity and volume of your stomach temporarily and make you feel full. Patients lose 10% to 30% of their starting weight over six months

It is the most popular non-surgical option preferred by people who want to get a less invasive yet effective procedure to lose weight.

Gastric Bypass

Gastric Bypass Surgery, also known as Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass, is a weight loss surgery that works by creating a tiny pouch in the stomach.

The pouch is connected to the down part of the small intestine. Patients lose up to 70% -75% of their excess body weight in the 18 months after the surgery.

Gastric Botox

Gastric Botox, also known as Stomach Botox, is a non-surgical weight loss procedure that involves the injection of botulinum toxin into the stomach.

The injection of botulinum toxin into the stomach wall alleviates muscles and slows the process of gastric emptying. The relaxation of the stomach suppresses appetite, which makes you full for a longer time, and consume less food.

Transit Bipartition

Transit bipartition is a surgical procedure used to treat type 2 diabetes. The surgery involves the removal of 75% of the stomach, creating a bypass for the intestines, and connecting the stomach to the lower intestines laparoscopically.

The procedure also supports weight loss by narrowing the stomach and bypassing the parts of the intestines which increase the blood sugar.
